MINT.SKINT.PAYDAY

For my first 'Mint, Skint, Payday' post I went for the shearling jacket. I saw the Acne one on Pinterest first, cried a bit over it, and then made it my business to track down some cheaper alternatives.
I haven't blogged properly in a long time, moving to another country and having all the distractions/stress of trying to settle in I completely lost my shopping mojo. I honestly did not give two shits about fashion, the shops here are alright but there is no real 'high street' like in the UK, and since I don't have a lot of money I really missed my Primark (yeah i'll admit it, no shame here)

HOWEVER, I then remembered where I was from... England, West Yorkshire, and what are Yorkshire people good at? yep.. being cheap as fuck! So whilst I may not be raking in the cash right now, my fashion boner is back and I'm getting back in the stores and online and I will be sure to share my new bargains.

Oh, and the jackets you can find here..

If anyone has any requests for a particular item on a  'Mint.Skint.Payday' post please let me know, 'cause I have a bit of a talent for finding stuff if it exists even in the deepest darkest corners of the internet.

HELLO OCTOBER

coat:zara//jeans:h&m//trainers:nike roshe

Just a quick one, finally winter is setting in and I get to wear my favorite mannish coat from Zara. This jacket is awesome for smartening up an everyday casual look, great if you usually dress like a bit of a scruff like me. All the usual high-street big hitters are stocking manly coats this fall, H&M is my personal favorite especially for those of us on a bit of a winter wardrobe budget.

OBSESSIONS

necklace: H&M
shorts: Primark//bag:Alexander Wang//tee:Topshop//trainers:River Island
top to bottom:ASOS//Ebay//H&M//ASOS
vest & shoes:Zara//shorts:Urban Outfitters//bag:H&M

Since outfit posts have kind of had to go out the window for the moment (I'm too preoccupied trying to sort my life out to dress decently) I'll have to bore you with this nonsense... So I'm a little bit besotted with this whole outfit grid thing. I love the instagram @outfitgrid, its all menswear which I'm obsessed with because they have the BEST accessories. But I think the girls oughta play too, so that's what I'm attempting here. Its also a great way to put outfits together, so when the weather turns nice and I'm ready to get out of my sweatpants/slippers/jeans/trainers rotation I shall be wearing both these get ups.

I also wanted to show you my new neck candy! I'm back on statement necklaces since they are a great way to dress up a boring outfit e.g- tshirts and jeans (my staples!) The ID chain from Ebay, which is the closest to the Celine version can be found by searching 'chunky ID chain' which will bring up tonnes of tasty results to choose from. Mine is actually plastic which I was kinda pissed about when it arrived but it means it won't tarnish.

AUF WIEDERSEHEN

My Dream Team Queen B Rachel and I

I don't know if I've mentioned it on here yet but I'M MOVING TO CANADA ON FRIDAY. Exciting times ahead but sadly that meant leaving my much loved colleagues at Northern Lights Agency where I have worked for the past two and half years :'-(  So on wednesday I was treated to some lovely leaving presents and an amazing leaving dinner at Restaurant Bar & Grill in Manchester.

I really liked my outfit but didn't take any proper photos (trust me if I had better ones I would put them up but for now please enjoy the view of our toilets) so yeah, on paper, white vest and white blazer doesn't sound great but when I had them on together I loved the look, I've had this blazer for two years,  its really old Primark and this is the first time I've worn it (Its now in my immediate jacket choices) Wore with Zara heels and H&M coated skinny trousers

PLAIN AWESOME

Two of my recent treats from the accessories and footwear departments. These Zara sandals are the closest I can find to the Saint Laurent Jane shoes. The majority of my shoes are black ankle boots so I can't wait to wear these proper lady like heels. I finally decided to invest in a pair of designer sunglasses too, RayBan Cats 5000 has always been my favoured style. I suit an aviator shape best but the classic gold/silver frames are a little over played. The Cats 5000 style has more of a masculine look, is more lightweight and I really like the subtle tortoise pattern.

WEEKENDER

Jumper:Primark//Jacket:Topshop//Treggings:Zara//Boots:Topshop//Sunglasses:Rayban

Ran some errands on Saturday and since the weather was perfect (cold enough to dress for winter, but sunny enough for shades) I decided to have a go at an outfit post. Don't really do them because there is nowhere decent in my house and the lighting always looks shit. But now its staying lighter into the evenings and I can go outside I will try more often. The only thing I have to say about this outfit is that that knit jumper cost me five pounds, FIVE ENGLISH POUNDS, couldn't quite believe it. I mean it was only suppose to be £15 in Primark but had been marked down to a fiver..I thought the fit and quality would be really bad but when I got home and tried it on it was great. They had loads so I'm going to go back and buy it in a couple of other colours.

BLACK ON BLACK ON BLACK

I love black clothes. They pretty much take up the majority of my wardrobe. I went for a look in Zara and everything is actually amazing, the thing I like most about Zara is their basics are really good value for money. The leggings set me back £20 I love the gold zip detailing on the pockets and the backs of the legs...they are also REALLY thick (I think they would be classed as treggings but that word makes me shudder) and also a basic black jersey tee is made more interesting with a zip and leather trim (£16)
The belts are from H&M, since I have about fifteen pairs of jeans many belts are a necessity.
